Vietnamese Motorsport Calendar & Event Guide
Vietnam’s motorsport scene has grown steadily over the past decade. If you’re tracking races, rallies, or drift events, you need reliable dates and venue details. We maintain this guide as a working reference for the major competitions and series that define the year.
National Racing Series
The Vietnam Racing Championship runs across multiple rounds, typically between March and November. Events rotate through circuits including Binh Duong and Can Tho, with touring car and formula-style categories. The series draws serious competitors and attracts solid spectator turnout, especially at regional events where local drivers compete.
The Vietnam Grand Prix, held annually in Ho Chi Minh City, sits at the calendar’s center. Though it’s evolved over the years, it remains the highest-profile race event and usually falls in late summer or early autumn. Check official announcements early in the year, as dates can shift based on circuit preparation and weather planning.
Rally and Hillclimb Events
Rally Vietnam dominates the off-road side. The main national rally typically happens in spring and covers challenging terrain across central or northern regions. It’s grueling and technical, which is why it draws serious drivers and attracts coverage from the regional motorsport press.
Hillclimb events are more frequent and decentralized. Venues near Da Lat and in the northern highlands host regular competitions. These are worth attending if you want to see performance-tuned Datsuns and classic machinery in action – the tight courses suit modified classics well, and you’ll see genuine engineering effort on display.
Drift and Time Attack
Drift competitions have real participation in Vietnam, with events scattered through the year at various circuits and closed courses. Time attack series also run regularly, offering drivers a structured way to push performance cars without the expense of a full race program.
For current dates, check with local motorsport clubs and circuit websites directly. We update our coverage as confirmed schedules are published, and we cover major events in detail after they run. If you’re planning to attend or compete, reach out to the organizing bodies early – logistics and dates do change.
