Top 5 Tracks in Vietnam for Weekend Track Days
You can hit decent tarmac most weekends without flying far. These five spots stay open for track days, keep entry fees reasonable, and sit close enough to cities for a Saturday or Sunday run.
The five tracks worth your time
- Red River Circuit, Hanoi
30 minutes north of the capital. Two layouts, 3.2 km and 2.1 km. Locals run open sessions every other Saturday. Bring your own fuel because the on-site pump closes at noon. - Long An Circuit, near Ho Chi Minh City
45 minutes from District 1. 3.8 km with a long back straight that rewards power. They post the day schedule on Facebook every Thursday. Arrive by 7 a.m. to beat the heat. - Da Nang Coastal Track
Right on the beach road. 2.9 km, tight first sector, sea breeze on the straight. Good for bikes and small-displacement cars. Book via the local car club WhatsApp group listed on their signboard. - Phan Thiet Flat Track
Two hours from Saigon. 4.1 km mostly flat with one elevation change. Cheap paddock space if you want to camp overnight. Watch for sand on the exit of turn 9 after rain. - Son La Mountain Loop
Closed public road turned track day venue on Sundays. 5 km of elevation and switchbacks. Only open when the province clears it, usually one weekend a month. Check the district police page the Friday before.
Simple checklist before you go
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Full-face helmet | Most tracks require it, even in open cars. |
| Fire extinguisher | Long An and Red River both check it at the gate. |
| Spare set of tires | Coastal track eats rubber fast in the heat. |
| Cash for fuel and fee | ATMs are 20 minutes away at three of these places. |
| Printed entry form | Phone signal drops at Son La and sometimes at Phan Thiet. |
Drive the first session at 70 percent to learn the surface. Most locals will let you follow them for a lap if you ask in the paddock before the session starts.
